This is the third book from Mitali Meelan. Her first novel, “The Guest” was promising. Her second “Coffee and Ordinary Life” was poetry e-book. The third, “A Long Way Home”, proves many things. Mitali Meelan has a knack of “showing the story” as against many writers who “tell a story”. Her language is lucid and captivating. The characters speak their heart out and strike a chord. This story of a middle class family comprising of parents and their three children, two sons and one daughter, is very inspiring. We are stunned by the narration of different perspectives of two persons about same incidents. The characters of Arihant and Ishaan are perfect depictions of today’s youth. Mitali Meelan takes us along with them to witness and follow their aims, aspirations, struggles and progress. A compulsive read, I would say. Strongly recommended.
